Dupin : I have noticed some JW's preaching their message. I'm not being unfriendly by saying this, they can put the time on their FS sheet.
True that things have to be straightend up. I'm not good in discussions, only talking and sharing. Might the you guys do the rest ! For sure I'm learning a lot !
Don't feel alone, I'm the same way.  :) We all have our strengths, and weaknesses.

To Kevin;

Let Jesus words help you.  "You must accordingly be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect." Mat 5:48

To Eva;
Why not heaven for him?  Jesus did not ask him to come be my follower did he?

Hi BQ - This man was well versed in the Law, quoted it perfectly. He answered according to the law. Possibility of eternal life was no news to him.
My opinion is : If this man, a lawyer, had had a heavenly hope, he would have recognized Jesus and just followed him. Here he just showed his knowledge according to the law.

In the same chapter of Luke 10 :21just a few verses before Jesus praised his Father :"In that same hour he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou didst hide these things from the wise and understanding, and didst reveal them unto babes: yea, Father; for so it was well-pleasing in thy sight."

The man asked who was his neighbour and Jesus tells the story about the good Samaritan. That was a tough one for an expert in the Law ! Go and do likewise ! Be a Samaritan!

How do you know BQ that it is not "heaven" to this Lawyer, we have no news from him since.... he can be resurrected to live everlasting life on earth, join the Highway to Salvation ....

 :(no feedback on everlasting life promised in the Hebrew scriptures ?
  :)Thanks I have the DVD and also I has been a regular pioneer myself, very happy moments indeed!!

To Eva;

Ihave never been a pioneer in my 40 years.But I love working with them in the ministry. The DVD I am not sure what you ment you have one. Did I mention some DVD? I don't remember doing so.

As to everlasting life in the Hebrew Criptures we all know this one. Ps 37:29,"And they will reside forever upon it." Eccl 3:10,11. And one you have to think on.  If you eat off that tree you will die. What would happen if he did not eat off it?  Keep on a living right here on earth. If I make it I have a desire to learn how to plant many things and properly care for it.  And when I want to learn something else, learn to build homes. And of coarse if a need is their to help children, having not had any I would be willing to help them if their parents are missing.  I am sure many others would be more than happy to do that also.

Was happy to see you go to the Samaratan account. Did you catch these points?  "But wanting to prove himself righteous, the man said."  He should have quit when he was ahead, because this came back to bite him.  You see Jews would not like to even say the word Samaratan and Jesus pinned him.  Even at that the man would not say the Samaratan, he said,"The one that acted mercifully toward him." 7 Words when he could have said 1.  "Go your way and be doing the same." Again, not asked to be his follower.  The reason I say that is because of. Luke 18:18 on another. When all was said and done Jesus said,"Sell all the things you have and distribute to the poor people, and you you will have treasures in heavens, and come be my follower."  "When he heard this, he became deeply grieved, for he was very rich."

That's a good point BQ, the rich man forfietted an opportunity to become a prospective member of the Bride Class because he vested so much in earthly treasure. I wonder if he took on discipleship later on? Who knows. Either way, his riches were a stumbling block to him.

Hi BQ, true, you said Cd's !
Concerning our exchange about the Bible account about the Jewish man well versed in the law and his question how to get everlasting life, Jesus said to him ok do what you know you should do according to the law and you will get life.
Jesus reads hearts and this lawyer loved the law.

To KA and Eva;

Thank you both for your replies, they both got my wheels turning.  It is so easy to miss things and them some shares their thought and whola, more searching must be done.

When the one was grieved because he was rich, Jesus the greatest teacher who ever lived on earth took advantage of it.  Picture this if it was us.I'm looking right at Jesus and he told me that, and my expression was not of joy.  THEN WHAT?

"Jesus looked at him and said: "How difficult a thing it will be for those having money to make their way into the kingdom of God!"  I picture myself standing their with his eyes looking right in mine as he says it. And Like Eva said he could read my heart right there, Johnny on the spot. Then Jesus tells him more,"It is easier. in fact, for a camel to get through the eye of a sewing needle than for a rich man to get into the kingdom of God."

As that rich person heard this he no doubt new he would have a big decision to make.

Those of us among the ex-JWs are aware that there is a certain amount of folks "preaching" here to put time on their FS and they're welcome to it as far as I'm concerned.  I just hope that they learn something in the process from my answers.  And don't worry, Eva, you do well enough.

they can count all the 'time' they want (the Jw's) while involved on this board, I could care less; I think, though, it would be 'funny' if one had to identify where they were spending there personal 'field service' time...
:D
"Can you bind the chains of the Plei'ades, or loose the cords of Orion? Can you lead for the the Maz'zaroth in their season, or can you guide the Bear with its children? Do you know the ordinances of the heavens? Can you establish their rule on the earth? Job 38:31-33

It doesn't Sage, most JWs make up their time anyways  :P
The Harvest Message is the divinely appointed and established standard, appointed and established by God Himself, through the agencies and instrumentalities of His own choosing. It is the church's standard. We are to adjust and correct ourselves by it, and not presume to correct the standard.
